When I ask wellness providers what's holding them back from integrating antiracism into their work they say:
I hear ya!
You want a practice that is equitable to the people it serves and sustainable to you as an owner. You want to create a safe, accessible and inclusive space for your clients and students. You recognize the inequities in the wellness industry and want your work as a wellness provider to be different.
But you don't know what steps to take to make this happen...
Here's the thing: antiracist work is critical to a wellness practice that serves the needs of a diverse community, but it’s not a quick or strategic task. It’s a journey that involves the body and the mind. It means bringing your whole self to the table and honoring feelings of fear, anxiety, guilt, fatigue and even shame that show up during the process.
Without a plan to implement this work and a community to support you and hold you accountable on this journey, overwhelm and fatigue are almost inevitable.
Embodying Equity offers a holistic framework for you to learn how to show up for your clients, students or community as a more inclusive, antiracist wellness provider.
Antiracist work involves unlearning white supremacist practices and implementing anti-oppressive ones in your personal and professional life.
But because racism also lives in the body, antiracist work also necessitates body-centered or somatic work - both to process the feelings of fear that show up when you do this work, and to unlearn oppressive conditioning.
Embodying Equity offers a community-focused, holistic framework to antiracism that includes mindset work, somatic, body-oriented, experiential training, peer-learning and coaching, so that you can begin to dismantle oppressive conditioning, show up for your clients as a more inclusive practitioner, and build and scale your wellness business with integrity and equity.
Does this sound like you?
While you’re committed to it in your personal life, your business practices, Instagram content and work with clients or students don’t reflect your commitment to antiracism. You know it's time to change that.
You feel guilty over not doing enough - you want to speak up about the need for social justice, equity and diversity in wellness but don’t feel confident doing so beyond resharing articles or social media posts.
You've spent hours reading antiracist books and articles, but still don’t know how this relates to your professional work or how it can actually help your clients/students.
You know diversity and inclusivity are important to your work as a wellness provider or educator, but you feel unqualified to offer culturally appropriate care, don't want to appear performative, or just don't know where to start.
Learn how to align your personal and business values to create an equity-centered practice that serves a diverse community
Gain the confidence and language to advocate for equity and antiracism and a more inclusive understanding of wellness in your professional communities
Access the support and tools you need to embody anti-oppression and take actionable steps to build antiracism and equity into your business missions and coaching practices to meet your clients' and students' diverse needs.
Start here, right now and have a clear plan, accountability and community to support you through the challenging, rewarding and necessary work of antiracism that benefits your students, clients and your business
You're committed to making wellness accessible, but you're asking yourself…
So... you're overwhelmed trying to consume information on antioppression and antiracism. This work feels heavy, you feel that you're lacking support and a clear plan to make real change in your work in wellness, for your clients/students and community.
That’s why I created Embodying Equity!
This course was designed to offer you the space for reflection and learning so that you can process the overwhelm, guilt and shame, transform your relationship to antiracist work and develop an equitable practice or business that addresses the diverse needs of your clients. Because dismantling racism and oppression in wellness is an ongoing collective practice, this course provides you with a community for additional support and accountability and the tools to build resilience so that you can stay engaged with this work long after the course is complete.
EE CASE STUDY
[Embodying Equity is] profound...it's helped me come into better alignment with my personal values...and bring those into my business. As someone whose work is a big part of my life, it feels like a profound shift...on a soul level and not just a business level"

The biggest challenge (that led me to EE) was that I found myself wanting more from wellness spaces to align with my values ... and not knowing how I could make an impact to change them as a sole practitioner. This challenge was a bit daunting, and made me feel unsure of myself... After EE, I realized that any amount of anti-racist work is still needed. Small or big, it can still have a real world impact... Make the jump!!! If anti-racist and social justice work is something that you value (which, hopefully you already do), the information [in EE] is jam packed with resources and tools to help you fully showcase that.

There is so much work to be done in my field when it comes to antiracism and inclusivity, and now I feel that I have the tools to make a real difference in the communities around me…. I knew before doing this program that I wanted to be a co-conspirator in social justice, but I wasn't sure how to go about it and didn't want to come off as performative. This course has truly helped me gain a deeper understanding of this work and build it into the core of my business and life. While I still have a long way to go, I feel good about the foundation that I got through Embodying Equity.

The content of this program is really good and actionable. Most of the antiracism groups/courses I've done have been a lot more theoretical... I guess I went into this course thinking we'd dig into how we practice. I'm not sure I realized it would also encompass how we structure and do business! My whole business/practice is getting a makeover :)

Embodying Equity is a framework for wellness providers and educators who are ready to integrate antiracism and equity into their work to better serve their students and clients.
This program is for you whether a) you currently feel uncomfortable and overwhelmed about antiracist work; b) you're established in your profession but know that there are gaps in equity and inclusivity in your work; or c) you've begun your antiracist journey, believe that true wellness includes social justice, and are ready for your work to reflect this.
Here's what you'll be learning...
This course takes the guesswork out of integrating equity and antiracism into your work so you can align your personal and business values, create an inclusive environment for your clients and students, and grow and serve a richly diverse community.
Module 1
Awareness
This module introduces embodiment work and asks you to reflect on your positionality as a wellness provider or educator and your purpose for engaging in antiracist work. You will learn about how systemic racism operates in the wellness industry, and develop the language to discuss the connections between systemic racism, social justice and wellness.
Module 2
Inquiry
In this module, you will examine your approach to wellness and/or your wellness practice within a landscape of systemic racism. Through a series of modules and workbook prompts, Dr. Charles will guide you to examine your professional identity, values and online presence to identify gaps in representation, equity, diversity, and inclusion in your business and the communities you currently serve.
Module 3
Alignment
This applied module guides you to (re)develop your business missions, identify your professional priorities for diversity, equity and inclusion, consider your financial commitments to racial equity, develop antiracist statements and policies to abide by (with clients/partners/affiliates), and incorporate best practices to client care that are rooted in equity.
Module 4
Embodiment
This practical module features the expertise of a trauma-informed somatic practitioner. Through a series of body-oriented practices, you will learn what it means to embody antiracism as a wellness provider or educator, how to build trusting and sustaining relationships with clients who identify as racialized, how to foster transparency and inclusivity, and how to regulate your nervous system when offering care to BI&POC communities.
Module 5
Activation
In this module, you will learn how to speak on principles of equity, diversity and antiracism online and in your sphere of influence, not simply during national crises and social justice uprisings. You will practice your commitment to antiracist advocacy in your everyday messaging and recommendations about wellness and begin putting your anti-oppressive policies into action in your work with students/clients.
Module 6
Sustainability
This module will help you to build the stamina and resilience you need to stay engaged with the work of antiracism in the long term. Dr. Charles will guide you to develop plans to measure the impact of your advocacy, policies and actions on the communities you serve, to ensure continued antiracist learning and to build a community to hold you accountable.

Meet your Guide!
Hi, I'm Nicole! I'm an intersectional feminist and antiracist educator, author and researcher and food and wellness entrepreneur.
Across these various professions and pursuits, I'm invested in cultures of holistic care and healing, equity, feminism and anti-oppression.
Over the past decade, my experiences as an academic professor (and those of hundreds of my students) have continuously emphasized the need for diverse and anti-oppressive learning and coaching environments.
As a food blogger and wellness entrepreneur, I see daily the urgent need for more inclusive and accessible wellness spaces, businesses and antioppressive, antiracist business practices. And I’m on a mission to help you integrate these values into your wellness practice!
I’m thrilled to merge my academic expertise in antiracism, gender and health, my training in meditation, Reiki and yoga and my wellness entrepreneurial experience to guide you on this path to becoming a more engaged, antiracist and equity - centered wellness provider.
It's all possible with the right guidance and support!
I can't wait to see the sustainable business practices and diverse communities you foster as you challenge cultural norms in wellness, and commit to equity and antiracism in your practice with Embodied Equity!
How much time do I need to complete Embodying Equity?
I recommend you set aside at least 2 hours per week for this course to watch the video recordings, digest the content and reflect in the workbooks. You can access additional support as needed by attending office hours and chatting in Slack with other members of the collective.
That said, anti-racist work is an ongoing practice that will necessarily exceed the course’s duration. An investment in this course is one step in your antiracist journey and commitment to anti-oppression and equity in your life and wellness practice.
This course provided exactly what I was for : education, awareness, and a process for identifying potential action steps for creating a more equitable, accessible, inclusive, and anti-racist business from someone who is deeply familiar with the holistic wellness world.

There has never been a better time to commit to antiracism and equity as a wellness provider.
In the wake of multiple racial and social justice uprisings and a global pandemic that has disproportionately devastated communities of color across the globe, the world is waking up to the pervasiveness of systemic racism. The need to dismantle the systems that infiltrate our businesses and get in the way of collective healing, ethical entrepreneurship and equity-centered leadership is urgent.
The wellness industry, in particular, continues to perpetuate an ahistorical and commodified model of health and wellness that systematically excludes Black, Indigenous and people of color.
As wellness providers and entrepreneurs, the time to commit to equity and antiracism in your practices and for your clients is now.
Embodying Equity will allow you to:
Gain the confidence to advocate for equity and antiracism online and in your professional communities
Learn how to regulate your nervous system and embody antiracism to prevent harm to your clients
Develop anti-oppressive policies and practices for your work with partners, affiliates and/or clients
Implement best practices to care that are rooted in equity
Authentically build social justice into your messaging around wellness and health
Grow a healthy and sustainable business with diverse communities rooted in trust and transparency
Good intentions alone are not enough. If you don't take action, you're part of the problem. Don't let this moment pass without being transformed by it.

Is this program for me?
Here are 6 types of people Embodying Equity is perfect for, so you can decide if it's a good fit.
You've read antiracist books, but you're struggling to take action on antiracism as a wellness provider.
What if I told you that antiracism is not simply a strategic or intellectual process, but a body-oriented practice? This course offers learnings that move beyond the mind to help you bring your whole self into this work to support a diverse community and meet your students' or clients' needs.
You're tired feeling guilty about your lack of antiracist work and are ready for your professional work to reflect the holistic vision of wellness you believe in.
Nagging feelings of guilt, shame and defensiveness are not uncommon. This course helps you release the emotions that prevent you from unlearning internalized systems of racism. With the support of a community of wellness providers on their journeys to transform wellness, you'll be encouraged every step of the way.
You've just begun your personal antiracist journey and want to learn how to apply these values into your business.
As elusive as business culture might seem, your clients and audience inevitably feel it. If you're ready to take a critical look at your business practices and reshape your business so that it is equity-focused, you've come to the right place.
You've been reading, listening and learning over the past year and are ready to move beyond passive conversation, walk the talk and take action.
Over the past year you've diversified your social media feeds, reshared posts on Instagram, committed to learning from people of color but you know there is more to be done. This course inspires embodied action so you can show up for your students or clients with equity and care.
You know antiracist training will be helpful for your clients or students, but you haven't taken the leap. It's a big financial commitment & you're nervous you don't know enough yet.
It's never too late to begin learning and unlearning. An investment in this course is a financial commitment towards antiracism and one step in a lifelong practice. What better a time to commit than now, as the world is waking up to the realities of systemic racism, alongside a community who's ready to make wellness accessible?
You've tried to implement equitable practices into your wellness biz, but not sure they've made a difference. You know you can do more, but don't know how and you're overwhelmed trying to DIY!
Without a guide or community to support you on your antiracist journey, overwhelm is almost inevitable. This course offers you professional guidance and a clear plan of action to embody antiracism in your work with clients, a vibrant community of support, and the tools to build resilience so that you can continue this work.
To sum it up: You don't need to have it all figured out. It's okay if you've only just begun your personal antiracism journey and feel nervous or worried about getting it wrong. You just need the willingness to learn and step outside a place of comfort to show up for your community as an engaged, anti-racist and inclusive wellness practitioner or educator.
